Bendy Stawsects

Nature is very often magical.

The introduction for this workshop involved a discussion about the metamorphosis of many types of insect as they change from one creature (say… a caterpillar) into soupy gloop inside a cocoon and finally a beautiful elegant butterfly. Magical!

We talked about the properties of insects, what defines an insect as opposed to say… a spider?

The only requirements for the resulting creations were their creatures had to have a head, a thorax and an abdomen, and they had to use bendy straws as part of the creature.

The Arty Farties chose beautiful colour combinations and let their imaginations fly free.
